I find Twitter extremely useful, although I only follow ten tweeters.
First, it allows me to keep up to date with the action during Chorley Football Club matches, as one of the regular supporters posts updates from the match (goals, major incidents etc.) live. Otherwise, I would have to wait until about a hour after full time to find out the score once the Unibond League website is updated.
Secondly, it allows me to follow the work of my local councillors, MP, not to mention activities and news from the local council, theatre and walking group.
Finally, the local newspapers use Twitter, so I can catch the headlines and click on the link to any local news items of interest. That saves me from having to wade through pages of sh1t to find the story I want to read. It works like the "View Posts Since Last Visit" does on here.
Having said that, I can't see any point in adding private citizens to my Twitter list, as I am not in the least bit interested that Madelaine is doing her nails or that Elsie is picking her nose.
