Thank goodness Schrodinger hasn't read this thread.  He'd never recover if he found out his cat could be in two places simultaneously.

Probably just as well.  You can't get a good quantum mechanic round here for love nor money.

They won't turn up anyway.  They'll have some sort of excuse about how the spare parts were supposed to be on the shelf but they were actually somewhere else at the time.

I think he was quite aware of that - since that's also Quantum mechanics. His idea with the cat is a demonstration of other ideas, so as position / momentum uncertainty - where you can either no the velocity or position, thus the object can be at two places...
