I shall wait until they come down in price but I can see their advantages.  My Sony Cybershot, which has served me well I might add, takes an age to kick in after I press the button.

my canon ixus point and click is bloody fast.. though over time its gotten slower, in particular building up charge for the flash... I'd like a better camera but I also dont like the idea of carrying lots of lens etc around with me.

Oddly, that's exactly what I do like, Sam. Primes are so much better than zooms, and only marginally less convenient.

I guess when I have a car etc (oh we do now.. I just can't drive - we got a Clio for Lizzie to drive me around over Christmas  ) I might be more tempted with all the big lenses.. but to be honest I prefer much bigger lenses than the type you can put in a bag.
