We're staying at Clava for the first couple of weeks, near Culloden Moor, it was settled by Neolithic man, there's a couple of burial cairns there, plus several standing stone. Situated in the Nairn valley, you can see why early man chose to settle there. We have a self-catering 'cabin' for two weeks, the come back to Dumfries and Galloway for a week - somewhere we've only ever driven past on the way to the real Scotland. Time we explored.
Back home via the Lake District - retirement has its advantages.
