Linux isn't for everyone-yet. However, Ubuntu, Mandriva, and a few other distributions come close but for now, Linux is a little more difficult to use than Windows.

He is right in a way
Som e things are hard to get done on linux
Drivers and flash drives are just two of the small ones I can think of

Getting a flash drive to work like it shoud was a pain mainly because most portable aps are EXE packages

I've never had an issue with a flash drive... I just stick it in a job done. I dunno, maybe if you want to run the premade apps then its an issue - though if that's the case then you need windows.
