IE problems
« on: September 18, 2010, 22:12 »
I run Windows XP and IE7 which I am very happy with.

However I have a problem (in the last few days) where by on a couple of internet pages, the page loads, I get an error message saying it can't be loaded and then the page blanks. (for example facebook)

I have run ccleaner.
Have have tried manually restoring (with good copies) the Windows, Program Files, and Docs&Settings and system files in root, but that hasn't helped.
Have also tried system restore.

What else can I do before I put a fresh copy of windows on? (don't really want to as apart from this is it running great)

Thanks for any tips

Hi Andy,

Do these web pages fail to load all of the time?  Other web pages are OK, yes?  Have you tried a different browser, such as Firefox?  Also, in IE, have you cleared the cache / temp internet files and cookies?  That sometimes helps.

silly thing would let me put ie8 on.
Wants to put an update on first, but then says the update is already there in a service pack.
