Just back from a ten minute trip down the road to the Lancashire FA HQ.

Lancashire FA Trophy Semi Final:

AFC Darwen 0 - 2 Chorley    Att. 690

Played at the County Ground, Leyland.

Will be back next week for the second semi final between AFC Fylde and our localest rivals, Bamber Bridge.  Fylde are on a roll at the moment, having won their last seven league matches, but are currently lying third in the league - three points behind Chorley but having played four games more.  Fingers crossed that we meet Brig in the final.

Final to be played Monday, March 17, at the Reebok Stadium, Bolton.

Kings Lynn 0 - 2 Chorley.  :)

Massive win.  First of three tough matches in a week - today, followed by Tuesday at home to Frickley Athletic and next Saturday at home to FC United of Manchester - who are still smarting after we took over from them as highest attendance of the season when we had 1,950 against Skelmersdale a couple of weeks ago.

I know that Skelmersdale fans, on their forum, have been saying that this week is their chance to make up some ground on Chorley.  However, they have also been saying that if Chorley can take seven points from the three games it's as good as over.  Fingers crossed.

Chorley 2 - 0 Frickley Athletic

Now five points ahead of Skelmersdale with a game in hand and nine points in front of third placed Łylde with two games in hand.

We won't have a better chance of winning the league and automatic promotion than this. It's Chorley's to lose now.

Chorley P - P FC United of Manchester

Says a lot about this winter's weather. The first time in my lifetime that Victory Park has succumbed to a waterlogged pitch!

Not a bad day though, has the only two teams who might realistically challenge us for the title, Skelmersdale United and AFC Fylde both dropped points.

Ashton United 1 - 1 Łylde

Ilkeston 2 - 1 Skem

We stay 5 points clear of Skem, but now with two games in hand and we are 8 points in front of Łylde with three games in hand of them.  I would say that it is now a two-horse race, Chorley and Skem, as we would have to lose six of our last fourteen matches to let Łylde in - and that's if they win their last eleven matches.

Twitter was confusing after 90 Mins

It looked like we missed a pen after 90 mins but the pen was missed before we levelled after 94 mins.

2 -2
