Buy a Dremel multi-tool - their drills never travel in straight lines.

Sadly, yes :( .  They're good for thin bits of wood (which I use a lot) so there's definitely a place in the workshop for them, but the bearings don't last long if you use them for anything remotely demanding.  Buy a Proxxon or a Foredom instead.

Oh, you wouldn't want your proctologist to use one of those, believe me!  Proxxon makes a range of very high quality tools for miniature wood and metalwork.
