SanDisk segregates encrypted files on new flash drives
« on: January 08, 2011, 15:12 »
SanDisk will allows USB flash drive owners to store encrypted and non-encrypted files on the same device, with its latest range of products.

The storage firm says it wants to provide an alternative to the all-or-nothing encryption offered by its rivals, where either the entire device has to be password-protected or not.

With SanDisk Secure Access users will be able to drag and drop sensitive files into an encrypted "vault" on the drive, while leaving the rest of the files freely accessible to friends and colleagues who are passed the drive.

My mind has completely blanked on the software which already allows you to do this.

TrueCrypt. :) I'm getting old. Either that or I drank more than I thought last night. ;)

It was a good night, two bottles of champagne, one red and a bottle of port.  :)

Yeah, that would do it, but the champagne would have really nailed it.   :stars:

I hate to say it Simon, but look; Alcohol is alcohol - I don't care what flavour or what name they give it - it will make you feel good when you drink it, and bad the next day. It's reliable, it's trustworthy, it's consistent, and it's predictable.

I WILL NOT have you bad mouthing one version because you THINK it doesn't give you the same kind of hangover ;)

Steve

Edit: it isn't like when Linux is better than Windows - this is a wholly different thing  ;D
