Sony has announced it is finally entering the tablet market, with the launch of two new tablets. Both the Sony S and Sony P tablets will sport the Android Honeycomb operating system, with some interesting design and software features.
The Sony S boasts a 9.4in screen with a 1,280 x 800 pixel resolution, weighs 598g (for the Wi-Fi version) and sports an unusual “asymmetric” design. It’s slightly thicker at one end than the other, angling the screen for more comfortable typing.
Inside, the S will use the same Nvidia Tegra 2 processor as every other Honeycomb tablet we’ve reviewed, and will come in 16GB and 32GB Wi-Fi variants, plus a 32GB 3G version later. The base model S will cost £400, the same as the equivalent iPad 2.
