Talking of HD, they announced yesterday that local news will now be available in HD. Currently they screen the potter's wheel when local programmes are screened. Rik will explain.

The HD channel is to become BBC2 HD, which makes sense at one levels, but not if it's just showing repeats.

He ignored me Simon! OK, well many many years ago, when they had nothing to show on the telly, they used to screen a slowly turning potter's wheel. It was a bit like watching paint dry but at least you could show your friends that you had a telly.
