I can't believe so much time has passed, I listen to his music a lot, and think of what might have been.

Indeed, he certainly would have had a lot more to give.  What's even more tragic is that if he'd only lasted a couple more years, there would have been drugs available to treat him.   That said, I wonder what sort of life he would have had, and would he have been happy if he hadn't been able to live it to the full?
