I tried to go back to Avant but that's taken a change for the worse.  Chrome seems OK on the sister computer.  Can ait be the new hard drive?  I'm half sorry I didn't put the money to a new machine.

Can't really see how it could be the new hard drive, unless Chrome is looking for a cache on a different drive, or something, but that's just a wild guess.

Well another niggle is that when I turn on, an error message comes up saying "Warning - the chassis has been opened, press F1 to continue"   :dunno:

Sounds like it needs to go back to the repairers to me.

Clive, I used to have a machine that came up with that alert.  There is a setting in the bios that disables it, but you will have to root around for it as I can't remember where it was hidden.
