Topic: Those Pesky Capacitors

Anyone else got pesky capacitors on their cheap motherboards right in the way of their AGP slot? Doesn't really bother me since my new one will come next week but was just wondering

Havent got that problem on mine but I cant remove my Ram from the first slot if my AGP card is in place as the clip wont move far enough  
I think they must have designed it initially thinking of putting SDRAM in and then extended the slots to take DDR

Your probably right there. I think it's unfair how so many people see these cheap motherboard with built in everything hoping just to upgrade the GFX card so they can play their favourite games to find out 1 or more capacitors are in the way. I've unfortunatly done this twice   first time my 500Mhz Celeron fried along with my mobo, ram, floppy drive and modem   2nd is my new PC. They should put a large warning sign on the boxes and sites that sell them:

WARNING: NOT FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT TO PLAY GAMES WHICH REQUIRE A GRAPHICS CARD WHICH WILL PLAY GAMES MORE DETAILED THAN PONG!

Yes, I've notocied this on a lot of mainboards.
You usually find these problems on revision 1.0 of mainboards, and after deployment, the manufacturer finds the sales are good, so spends time changing the architecture of the board for newer revisions.

Sometimes you can get annoying onboard connector right in the way of a PCI slot.... GRRRRR

always spend some more money (like an extra £10) and go for a Gigabyte or .... hmmmn iWill

NEVER NEVER go for pccips - and matsonic   not my boards at all
