Whats all this balls about "This site uses cookies"? What brought this about?

Keep on appearing when your browsing, getting on my nerves. Is this another type of "Health and Safety" rubbish? We soon wont be able to walk down the street without a Government Employee checking that weve got clean underwear on!!!

It's all part of some EU privacy directive.  Call me cynical, but I suppose these parasites have to be seen to be doing something to justify their inflation-busting salaries.

We have complied at the very basic level of including information on cookies in our registration process (agreement to which implies consent to our cookie), plus, our Cookie Policy is included in our Policies page.

Sorry Simon, dont mean to upset you, but I couldnt give a F--k about cookies, I dont want to be reminded everytime I log on to a site. Cookies are easily got rid of with CCleaner. Why do people worry about them?

No need to apologise, DG, I share your opinion.  This is an EU directive, and there was talk of the ICO fining websites up to £100,000, if they did not comply.  As none of us had that sort of money lying around, we thought we'd at least better do the bare minimum to comply.
