I believe it's the Windows 10 default browser, Clive.

At the moment I'm updating my laptop as well (just finished my VAT returns  :( )

C'mon Den - you must be the only person on the planet that uses it.  The only reason I have it on my computer is because it's impossible to delete.   :o:

I use it because it is faster than Chrome, Firefox and IE10. I use it because it is constantly being updated and therefore safer. I use it because when you get used to it I rather like it and that is something I could never say about Chrome or Firefox. Try using it for a while instead of trying to delete it.  :)x

I will say that Chrome is much better on Windows 10 than on Win 7 when it would often hog the entire resources of the computer.  I've just clicked on Edge and it does have a lot of information on its home page.

If you update Windows 10 to the latest version Edge is even better. Just click on "All settings" and then "check for updates and you will find a link to download the latest version of W10. Be warned that it can take a few hours so I did mine over night.

I'm not mad enough to actually invoke a Windows Update Den.  I prefer to be the last person on Earth to get the updates in order for Microsoft to sort out the errors.  Last April's major update took out my Netbook if you remember!    >:(

I'm with you Clive, i avoid all the MS updates like the plague. Even windows 10 on Mrs Bees computer which took a bit of doing.  :P
I've had so much trouble with them in the past that no possible security worry can outweigh the potential problems thay could (and often do) cause.
I prefer to regularly update my AV and malware programs.

After singing the praises of Microsoft W10 and Edge at all times, yesterday I ran into a problem and could not open anything within Edge. After trying to find a cure on the net (using IE) I gave up and contacted Microsoft.

They set up a chat link straight away and tried to sort the problem out. After that failed I allowed a direct link to my computer and after about 1 hour he decided that there was some corruption within the files so he decided that the best way forward was to do a reinstall from the last major update this year.

He assured me that I would not lose any programs or settings and logged onto the Microsoft site. At this point he said it would be automatic from here on in and said I would be able to oversee it my self. So after 1.5hrs he logged off.

The update completed after a couple of hours and now the computer runs better than ever (well at least for a long time).

I must say that Microsoft and their tech guy were superb and I would not be frightened to contact them again. Thank you Microsoft for a very good free service.    ;D

I've yet to receive the latest W10 upgrade, and can't say I'm in any rush for it.

We don't think it was an update that did it, it was something that corrupted the files later and a good clearing out sorted the problem.
