I still haven't been prompted to upgrade. Guess they're rolling it out gradually so as not to cripple the networks.

Still nothing here - perhaps this is an omen.

Nothing on either desktops yet but if I check for updates it says "Upgrade to Windows 10 Pro" FAILED.

Not for Den - Windows 8 is faultless, so 10 can only be better!

In truth I know I will miss Windows 8.1 when it goes, I just believe in keeping up with the times and if Windows 10 is the future then so be it.

I'm downloading Windows 10 Pro onto a usb stick as we speak and will use it for a backup or even to upgrade from 8 to 10 if Microsoft doesn't pull their finger out (on my back up computer first).

I'm in no rush. I don't really want to have to reinstall everything on the laptop, so I'm going to wait for the upgrade process to take it's course.

You can use it to upgrade just the same as waiting for Microsoft to declare that your time is nigh.
If you upgrade you don't have to reinstall anything.

I still love 8.1 and find it strange that people hate it. I just hope I like 10 as much. ':|

Just updated my back up desktop using the Windows 10 Pro app off the USB stick. Completely perfect and simple to do, in fact I went for a shower while it was running. All my programs were kept intact the only problem I can find so far is that Edge is set as the default browser and it does not support extensions yet and therefore it will not run Norton. In fairness to Microsoft it informs you of this and suggests that you make IE the default browser for now.
