Mississippi Heat
An old man in Mississippi was sitting on his porch watching the sun rise when he sees his neighbour’s kid walk by with something big under his arm.
“Hey boy, watcha got there?” he yells out.
“Roll of chicken wire,” replies the boy. “I’m gonna catch me some chickens.”
“You damn fool, you can’t catch chickens with chicken wire,” yells the old man. The boy laughs and keeps on walking. That evening, at sunset, the boy comes walking by, and to the old man’s surprise he is dragging the chicken wire with about 20 chickens caught in it.
Next morning, the old man is out again watching the sunrise when he sees the boy walk by carrying a roll of duck tape. “What you gonna do with that duck tape?” he yells. “Gonna catch me some ducks,” came back the reply.
Around sunset the boy walks by and to the old man’s amazement he is trailing the unrolled duck tape behind him with about 30 ducks stuck to it.
Next morning, the old man sees the boy walk by carrying what looks like a long reed with something fuzzy on the end,
“Watcha got there, boy?” he shouts.
“It’s a pussy willow,” replies the boy.
“Wait up - I’ll get my hat.”
