Firefox Add-Ons
« on: May 04, 2019, 20:39 »
Firefox has arbitrarily disabled all my add-ons (including my password manager) without any warning.   :grrr:  This is on top of having to constantly authorise the browser on various websites each time it updates, which is far too frequently.  Don't these bozos want people to use their browser?

I've just switched to Opera, which seems to be fine.

I still use Sea Monkey, which I don't seem to have any problems with.

Firefox have issued an auto update to rectify it apparently. It used to be really good but I seem to have more problems with it these days  >:(

Too late for me, Dave.  I've lost faith in Firefox totally because it's become too 'needy'.  Opera seems to be a much better option and importing bookmarks, passwords, cookies and suchlike from Firefox was an absolute doddle.

Me too Gill, I use Opera for certain tasks e.g. one particular bank account won't work in normal FF, I have to use a FF private window. It's just familiarity that makes me still use Firefox for everyday browsing.
I've heard Vivaldi is supposed to quite good although I've not tried it yet.

Mine were disabled this morning. I went to privacy and security and ticked "Allow Firefox to install and run studies". The addons were re-enabled a couple of hours later. I'm on v. 66.0.3

It seems to be a bit hit and miss if it works or not, possibly down to the version people are on  :dunno:
