Looking at SIM deals it seems that Giffgaff does the best and uses the O2 network.

Giffgaff are great for price and flexibility, not so good if there's a problem. They have no dedicated Customer Services that I know of, you have to go on their forum and random people will guess at how to fix the problem, they quite often copy and paste answers that don't relate specifically to the problem at hand. There's a rep system on the forum that encourages people to type anything as an answer.

Presumably it also displays 'Giffgaff' as the network on your shiny new premium iPhone, showing everyone you're on a cheap network.  The brand snob in me would find that untenable.  Like carrying M&S food in an Iceland bag.  ;D

Iceland can be useful at times, where else would you get your family box of Turkey Twizzlers  :dunno:

I actually held one belonging to another neighbour this evening - and even checked when her Amazon order was arriving.  It seems to work OK.

So, I've done it!  Placed the order with Mobiles Direct and it's:

Apple iPhone 12 Pro Max
Colour: Pacific Blue
Storage: 128GB
O2 24 Month Pay Monthly Contract
Unlimited Data
Unlimited Mins
Unlimited Texts

I've paid £79 up front and it will be £50 a month for two years.

Nice!  I'll be interested to hear how you get on.  I'll also be interested to hear how much data you use, because I wouldn't think you'd use much more than 1-2Gb a month, unless you're going to be consuming data all the time you're away from your home Wi-Fi.

At least I know lots of people who can show me how to use it.     But yes, Mrs Clive must get her teeth into the iPhone too if we are to get value out of it.  She took to the iPad like a duck to water so I'm full of hope.   ;D

All devices are communal Dave.   ;D  It's arriving tomorrow!  How quick is that?  I have to purchase a charger separately but we can use the one we had with the iPad.  I plan to order a wireless charger from Amazon.

It's taking the p**s that that don't give you a charger with a £1000 phone!

Utterly ridiculous!  Now it's arriving this afternoon.  But by DPD.
