Software to Edit Scanned Images
« on: July 23, 2003, 16:05 »
Can anyone recommend software that may be used to open a scanned image (saved to floppy disk) and then used to edit the text while leaving the heading images intact?

Thanks

Do you just need a standard image software (ie PhotoShop) or OCR software, where the computer recognises the words scanned and then can be edited like a normal document in Microsoft Word for example?

Is there any software that came bundled with your scanner?

Hi DJ.

I'm looking for OCR software, as I want to edit the text.  I will be using the scanner in the local library, as  I haven't got one, hence I will have to save to floppy, or alternatively e-mail the document to myself so that I can edit it back here.

Not sure what OCR software is, but I use Adobe Photoshop Elements, which can do that job, Dave.  You can 'erase' the existing text, by painting over it (like Tipex), then replace it with your own.  Not sure if that's what you had in mind though.

P.S. You have a PM.
