The thing, is... I will have 3 exhaust fans because I'll move one of the intake fans to the back, and I'll have a HDD cooler (the company don't seem to realise what next day delivery is) and then I'll have 120CFM coming in somewhere from the side. So basically the motherboard will get tonnes of cold air on it and my exhaust fans will try to get it out  :). The front intake will give the HDD cooler air and it will also cool that part of the case as well  ;)

write well i just added 3 80mm fans one acting as an outtake fan at the back and a dual 80mm fan at the bottom taking air in from grooves in the case. After about 5mins the temp of the cpu dropped to 47oC and the board temp dropped to 31oC not bad really.

Just thought i update you after leaving it for 1h or so the temp of the cpu is now 42oC thats a big drop from 47oc looks like i will have to make a fixed home for the fans now.

My XP2000+ is running at CPU 47.C Sys 33.C with one additional 80CM exhaust fan.

Best PC I built was a 2500+ Barton, one additional exhaust fan in same case and the CPU ran at 38.C

XP1800 running at 45c with the CPU fan running at a lower speed 2350 rpm running at top speed of 4000 rpm brings it down to 39c

Probably need to blow out the dust build up in the fins on the heat sink to bring it down a bit more  8)

hi there just letting you all no i moved the outake fan the single one from the back and put it into the two spare cd-drive slots so its blowing out across the cpu. Wow massive difference the cpu temp comes down to 38oC and the board temp down to 29oC wow  :o give it a try and see if you get the same results. that a lot cooler. i have an xp2400 if u aint read my posts further up ::)

Running mine as is, but I took the CPU fan off, brushed and "dust jacket" off the heatsink and give it a good "hoover". Case temp obviously stayed the same, but the CPU temp came down a whopping 10.C to 37.C

Just to add a little here

I have an XP2400+ which is clocked to the equivalent of an XP2700+.  I've a rather large copper heatsink with a thermal controlled fan on top.  The heatsink is lapped to a mirror finish and I used Arctic Silver III thermal paste (not that it needed much after the lapping)

Now despite being overclocked, it only runs at 36 deg and under load that rises to 40 deg

Having a good heatsink and fan is the answer to hot CPUs
