I gave the motherboard a once over, along with the diagram, and there is only one place to connect the CPU fan, however the mobo offers two more 3-pin connectors to power case fans.

And what you read is for the DIMM Standby LED, but there is another one PCI Standby LED which is not on, I have located it on the mobo...

*crosses his fingers*  Gotta see if I can get a multimeter off my dad =/

I... I uh... think I found the reason.  I'm somewhat embarrassed about it, this is the first time it has happened to me u_u;;;  seems the CPU wasnt seated right. I thought it was... checked it even... wow... this is an expensive mistake =/  Thanks all, for your ideas.

Two pins, radically bent.  I kinda guessed that it was gone at that point, so I attempted to straighten the pins out... kinda hard when their so small.  one fell off.  the other is still bent in one spot.  Guess in a month i just get a new one... heh.  Somehow I doubt it will work with 2 pins missing hehe

Probably not,thats a shame though as P4 2.4 ghz Intels are a fortune over here  
The USA prices seem to be in dollars what we pay in pounds sterling so about 33 - 50% dearer for us in the UK

Eep!  That's a huge price difference!  *sighs* Was pretty dear to me too, sicne I bought it off less than minimum wage pay... hehe.

I'm having a bit of trouble in the reflection though...  I cant remember it not sitting right....  I wonder if it's safe to flick it on... just to see what happens?  I wouldnt want to fry anything though.

Just had a quick look at the price in a local store to me :

P4 2.4GHz Socket 478, 800 MHz with Fan £149

So I would assume under $150 in the states ?

No, actually.  A 2.4ghz Intel P4 w/HTT costs $189 here.  I got mine on a lucky sale though.  (mobo and proc @ $259.99)  prices gotten at www.outpost.com

I bet that thats the first and the last CPU that you dont put in properly

lol, always nice to meet new people too.  As for expenses, that's life.  It aint everything, and can be replaced.  =)
