copying to cdrom

:)  hi again people, i cant copy word files to cdrom; i keep gettin msg 'please insert disc into drive d' when I do, but i already put a disc there  ???

in fact i've never been able 2 copy to cd; i keep gettin same msg, give up, use floppy... :'(

compact disc using: cd-rw 700: re-writable compact disc

cdrom workin fine with all other cd's (eg. anti-virus, etc)

i bet itz a real simple thing eh?  :-\

Can you tell us which operating system and which cd-rw software you are using Tigerbee?

yup Adept, am using windows - soz wot u mean by cd-rw software  ??? it's a cd-rom disc; or do i hav to install something that i havent yet? i got a dvd rom drive btw...

Ah, well you cannot write to a cd unless you have a CD-Writer drive or a DVD-Writer than can also write CDs.

What Version of Windows? and what are you using to copy the files to CD? Nero etc.  ;D

adept: ouch! u mean cd-rom drive needs 2 b a 'writer' drive? :(
robotchan: windows version ME; just goin into word, goin 2 file, clickin on 'send to' 'd: drive', then get msg 'insert disc into drive' etc

If you're looking for a CD Writer, TigerBee, this one is worth considering, and is a reasonable price.  Check out the reviews also on that page.  :)

The reason its asking you to insert a disc Tigerbee is because its a blank so it thinks that there isnt one in  :)

sandra, yep, disk is blank, but it acts as if no disc is in there; hence  >:(

shldn't it give a msg like: 'cannot copy files to the disc' rather than act as if no disc is there when there plainly is  ???

No it has to say its "Empty " as it cant "see" a blank disc it just assumes you havent got one in or its a faulty disc so it gives you that error message :doggie:
