Windows Updates
« on: September 17, 2003, 11:17 »
Hi Guys, as you are aware Im slowly builing everything back up on my PC BUT for some reason even though i have the Service Pack 1 on here I am uable to install any windows updates or "critical" updates. I hit the "scan for updates" and it performs the scan then goes back to the option the scan again, there is no menu available to see what programs to install neither is there an option on the left panel offering the critical updates :-\ any ideas how I may activate this facility?

I think you may have been referring to manually updating, Serenity. Hook is correct with the inage above, but to use the Windows Update facility, you have to disable your pop up stopper. Have you tried that? You may need to download the thing which makes the Windows Updates website work, which might be trying to 'pop up'. See how technical I can get? ;D

Shes sorted now guys, the Auto Update was already ticked.
You may have been right though Simon as after installing some more stuff the Auto box came up saying the updates were ready to review and download :)

Thanks for the prompt "Hooky" I was going to post to say it was already ticked but i see "Madam" has answered for me ::) the critical updates are now in place but it was the viruses on here which appear to have stopped most of my PC activity :-\
