Topic: Outlook 2000 Autoresponders

Hi all,

I'm going to be away for a few days next week and was wondering if there is anyway to set up an "autoresponder" / "out of office" in Outlook 2000.

I realise that these should be server based - so is there any little programs that do a similar job. My email addresses are with Force9 and IC24.

Basically I want a message to go to anyone who sends me a message to let them know that I'm away and I'll deal with their emails on return.

Any ideas?

The built-in "Out of office" feature in Outlook only works with Microsoft Exchange server I'm afraid.

I don't know of any software that does the same thing, but I bet someone on here does

Fixed it for you Hook.  You'd put a = instead of a ].  

I think with all Mail Client auto responders, they only work if the machine is online and able to send mail.  If you want one that works while you're away, the only thing you can do is see if your mail provider has a webmail service, as these sometimes offer auto responders, but these days, probably not free.

Sorry Simon we must have both been doing it at the same time and you had probably done it before I hit the submit button so it showed that I had edited it last  
At least its done correctly now, whether you had made a mistake or not

Cheers for the tips guys, thought the PC would have to be on at all times.  

The ISPs haven't got an autoreponder feature, but they had suggested using outlook expreses mail rules and leaving the PC on all the time - I think not.

I'll just deal with the emails on my return.
