Hi Steve, Welcome aboard  :)

Can you give some more details about the pc please?

The first thing to check is that the Clear CMOS jumper is set in the normal position not the clear it one or it will never go into bios or anywhere.

If thats set correctly then check that the memory is the correct type and that it is seated correctly.

Hope that this is of some help with the limited information that you have supplied so far  :-*

Hi Steve,

Is this a sudden fault with an existing system, or have you done some hardware modifications recently?  Also, it might be worth checking your CPU fan.  If it has stopped working, your CPU may have overheated, but let's hope not!  You could also check that your memory sticks are seated correctly, but if that was the problem, I think you would usually get some beeps.  It definitely sounds like a hardware problem, but as Sandra said, it would help us if you could provide some more information.

 :)

Hi Steve :welcome:

It doesn't sound good I'm afraid :(

If you are sure that the PSU is OK, the only things left are the CPU and the motherboard itself.

I know you have checked the memory in another board, but have you tried switching on the PC without the memory fitted? This should at least give some beeps. If the board doesn't beep with the memory out, you need to test the CPU in another PC if you can. If it's working, the motherboard is shot :(

Did your original PSU fail nicely or did it go bang? :o

One thing thats worth trying is reseting the CMOS on the motherboard (I managed to get a lightening struck machine working this way). It is possible it was corrupted by the old power supply failing.

Failing that I'd guess as a motherboard fault :( or the new power supply not being up to the job - does it have the same ratings for +5 and 12V as the previous supply?
hey promised the earth! Then delivered mud.
Technically it did meet the spec.
