I have a problem removing a file, it's one i downloaded and remains on my desktop, says it may be in use by another application etc, so i rebooted, retryed and it's still there, any ideas?

Hi Dominic. Try booting in Safe Mode. This should allow you to remove the file from your desktop.

It's gone, i read on a site to rename the extension then remove, it worked, but why wouldn't it let me remove it in the first place?
