Topic: Ping!!!!!!!

hi all,

i have ntl 600k bband, i had problems installing my modem, kept coming up with a vtruck dbg error? so i cant install my modem, however i get download speeds of a 600k'r and my browsing is still fast, howeva when im gaming my ping hits the roof and it makes it impossible to play a game online.

for eg. i play mohaa should normally get pings around 30 but am getting pings off 999, which means i am pretty much stopped?

any ideas guys?

I found this by doing a bit of Googling. Not sure if it is relevant to  your problem, but it mentions vtruck and cable modems, so here's hoping.

Do you have an address for the server you are trying to play on? What you could do is run a "proper" ping command at a command prompt, just to see if your ping is really that high. If your ordinary surfing seems OK, it could possibly be a problem with the game rather than your setup.
