Anyone had any experiance with C and opengl?

I need to write a simple program that outputs the letter A in C and is executed in opengl.

I have found how to do the basic shapes and lines etc but not how to output letters?

Its for a website thats in the developemnt stage by the way ;)

I figured some of it out so far - so hopefully if I get a few free hours over the weekend - i'll be able to sort the rest out.  :-\
