Web pages not loading fully
« on: November 23, 2003, 21:19 »
Why does any page I visit on the Web have an x where a photograph should be.  I can only view the photo if I right click on it and select "show picture".

In IE I have checked the Tools - Internet Options - Advanced - Multimedia tabs and checked the "show pictures" check box, but still nothing.

I have a Compaq PC with a P2 266 processor loaded with Windows Millenium and have had no problems until now.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Hiya owes01,

:welcome:  Try this if you're using MS Internet Explorer.

From the browser menu, select Tools -> Internet Options.  Click on the 'Advanced' tab and scroll down to the 'Multimedia' section then tick the box next to 'Show pictures'.

If that doesn't work, we'll just have to wait for a grown-up to appear.   ;)

Hi owes01,

It might be worth un-ticking that box, then close and restart Internet Explorer, and re-tick the same box.

If that doesn't work, maybe an overlay re-installation of IE (i.e. re-install it on top of itself), might help.  If you do decide to do an overlay re-installation, although your Favorites should be OK, it might be best to back them up first, just to be sure they are safe.
Many thanks to all our members, who have made PC Pals such an outstanding success!   :thumb:

Whooops!  I must remember not to type and telephone at the same time.   ::)
