Hi John and welcome aboard  :)
Have you tried loading bios failsafe defaults since you altered the bios ?
You may have set it to boot from the cd or HDD1 and not have it booting from HDD 0  :(

Ok, try and locate the clear cmos jumper, it should be near the battery.
If you move it into the clear cmos position for a couple of minutes then switch it back it should reset the bios.
If its only happened since messing with the bios then it should correct it  :)

im having a bit of a blonde moment (no offence 2 ne1 who is blonde) but i dont have a clue where it is. is the cmos battery the lithium one? the only thing near the battery is a set of switches 1,2,3,4,5,6. does that make sence?? i have an epox 8kta+ m/board. i just hope i can get it to work for tomorrow!!

Ok I have found the manual and the clear cmos jumper is located next to the VIA chip and is circled on the attached screenshot.
Dont forget to reset it to the normal position after you have cleared it  :)
