I have a few NFO files that I cant open with anything  >

Can somebody tell me what they are and how to open then please

NFO files are information and always open in notepad for me GK

the defualt in windows xp is the cpu info program. and it's a right pain the the backside when i want to open an nfo file from a zip file.

A simple way of fixing that is to open up "my computer", select "tools", "folder options", "file types" and simply change the NFO association. You can then associate them with notepad/wordpad etc.

All that does is give you a little menu saying "what do you want to associate the files with". You can then choose notepad/wordpad or whatever.

If you find you don't like it then simply change it back

:good: Or you could right click the file & chose "open with", but UNcheck "allways use this prog" first!. Why were you you tyring to open it?,
just out of interest.

Doesnt always work with XP unfortunately Dave, unless its not already associated with a program to open it with

My 1st was a sinclair speccy 16k, there were no pc's back then. I was so chuffed when I upgraded to a "BBC b". A whole 640k of ram & a 5 1/4" foppy!.

Mind you, we were lucky!, we did live in an "oil in't rooad" @ the time.

I believe Adepts first computer was a Sinclair ZX80. (Or was it 81?)

My first regular used one was a Research Machines 380Z in about 1979.

Home computers: Atari 400 (Anyone for Archon ), TI994A (for a bit), Spectrum 48k (dead flesh keyboard edition), Atari ST, Numerous PC's.

Also played on a few other things: Acorn Archimedes, Atari Stacy + Falcon, Amiga 500, Oric, Lynx.

I now feel incredibly old.......

Yeah it was a ZX-80. I built it from a kit A while later I upgraded the hardware so that it pretended it was a ZX-81. Then I got a BBC A, which I upgraded to B spec with the help of that kid whose mother worked in AB Electronics where the Beebs were made. Do you remember him?

After the Beeb (I still have it BTW), I got an Atari ST 1024 (I think). Didn't have it long - I "upgraded" to a second-hand 286. I still have the same machine, it's served me well. I've only had to change the processor, motherboard, hard disk, floppy drive, cd-rom and case

I now feel incredibly old.......
