That was a biggun tonight    normaly 10/20 seconds but this one was over a minute on my 56k

Probably the latest variant of MyDoom, Hook.  Norton did a biggie today as well.

I had two AVG updates yesterday and two today - so maybe your big one was a bundle of all four.

I too noticed it was bigger today.  

Seriously though, since the modification to the program, updates are now about 75KB, instead of the 3MB complete replacements we used  to get.  They were a deterrent to 56K dial-up users, as they could  sometimes take twenty minutes to download, depending on traffic.  I only updated mine once a week in those days, but now I do it every day.

BT have finally allowed me access to my account so I can get 128k  8)
