« on: January 29, 2004, 14:52 »
Dear Sir/Madam:

I Have been installed the Pro-E 2003 wild fire successfully, and also uninstalled and reinstalled several times, however after I formated the PC, I can't install it again, after check the license.dat file( generated by keygen )
it show as below (just a little part)

ptc.dat:line 3:Invalid parameter
Context:       \"
FLEXlm error:  -42,298
For further information, refer to the FLEXlm End User Manual,
available at "www.globetrotter.com".
ptc.dat:line 11: VSVER=2.0 LO=(19)"" \" "SUPERSEDE vendor_info=""VIVER=1.0 EXTERNAL_NAME="" ISSUER=PTC \" "ISSUED=02-Feb-2003 NOTICE=""ISO, 122247"" SN=2A122441"
   Invalid license file syntax

I really don't know why I use same PC, same Pro-E disk, same window xp home edition, I can't install it again use same method, but before formated the PC, I have reinstalled several times, it is okay, if you know the problem, please reply me, Thanks.

Are you saying this is a 'pirate' copy, John?  If so, I'm afraid we can't help you, because our forum rules forbid discussions relating to 'pirated' software, but if I have misundertood what you mean, please accept my apologies, and hopefully someone will be able to assist you.   :)

Thanks for clarifying that, John.  Sorry, but I had to ask when you mentioned a 'keygen', as these are commonly used for 'pirating' purposes.  No offence meant.  ;)

Now, hopefully someone will be able to help you with your problem.  :)

The only thing that I can think of John that it still "knows" it has been on before, despite a format  :(
Some programs wont allow themselves to be reinstalled as a piracy protection or against installing a trial version and then deleting and reinstalling it again to extend the trial period.
I would delete it again and do a search for anything that looks like it may have some connection with it but sometimes they have a file under a different name that makes it hard to locate them all.
I cant see how it let you reinstall on previous occassions but not this one unless it had a maximum number of permitted uses  ???
