Title: Win XP Filmstrip mode in My Pictures
Post by: thegallery on February 11, 2004, 21:18
My Win XP used to have a selection in My Pictures to view the contents as a "filmstrip". I can do: thumbnails, tiles, icons, list, or details, but filmstip is now missing. Any ideas? Thanks.

View as slide show is part of Picture Tasks.  Is it fully expanded?  If not try clicking on it.

Filmstrip views a strip of your pictures in the folder at the bottom and zooms into them up above. It is just another way of viewing your picture images in the folder, with the option available in the view menu. It is not the same as slideshow. But I did what you said, and I figured out how to turn on "picture tasks" back on by customizing the folder, and now the "FilmStip" option is back. Thanks very much.

I can view my pictures in the pictures folder under My documents, Michelle, without actually opening the files, if that's any help to you.  :)
