Has it got an FCC number on it at all, that sometimes helps to identify it, its possibly printed on the card itself ???

The FCC number is usually written on a sticker placed on the back of the board. Either that or it is silkscreened directly onto the board.
-
Hope you find that number - I usually cannot find it on older items that I can't identify, which drives me crazy!
PC Pals team: What website would you recommend for looking up FCC's?

PC Pals team: What website would you recommend for looking up FCC's?
Try http://www.fcc.gov/oet/fccid/ :)
-
i found a sticker at the back it had this:
0352008018
AGP-V440-TV1LB
-
Well, no FCC number listed in those numbers!
What a surprise...
440 - could this relate to the Geforce 440 MX?
www.nvidia.com
-
by the wa..y never checked!!could you get me a direct link to download drivers for that GeForce coz i have a problem with lookin 4 stuff and i surf at a cyber(as in commercial)so it costs me.i would really appreciate. :)
-
Try this Freezy, dont forget to set a restore point in case it messes up as we arent 100% certain which card you have :(

Looks like Its a VIA Card
VIA AGP Driver 4.40
VIA Tech has released a new version of their AGP Drivers - v4.40. Download VIA AGP Driver 4.40
Goto the VIA site and download the latest drivers
Brian :)
-
um....isn't that the AGP chipset driver for motherboards (for supporting any AGP card) - they've just released version 4.40
Might be worth downloading and running Unknown Device identifier from
http://www.zhangduo.com/download.html (http://www.zhangduo.com/download.html) (Its the last one on the page)
Worth mentioning that the software creates a desktop link to the huntersoft homepage when it runs - which can safely be deleted
-
the geforce drivers dint work it reported "no nvidia devices found".
The "Unknown Device identifier" reported that the Chip is
SiS325 2D/3D Accelerator.any ideas on whea i could find the drivers?

Or you could try this one ;)

-
what about that belarc advisor.. thats free and it tells you your whole spec ;D
PoD (jonah)
-
I think that Belarc and similar progs work by identifying the drivers already installed PoD :(
-
haven't gotten yet.the drivers i got were for windows 2000 and i need drivers for windows 98 and windows xp.(direct links plizzz..)still for SiS325 2D/3D Accelerator
-
Go to http://download.sis.com/ (http://download.sis.com/)click on driver software,on the right you will see a button saying "Identify your product" click where it says "Click Here" this will then check out your PC and identify your chipset and give you the address of the driver
Brian 8)
The Win 2000 drivers will work with XP
-
there is only one problem is i surf from a commercial place as in a cyber,so that idea can't work coz i dont have internet at home.i'll try the 2000 one in the meantime could you pliz check if you culd get a site with 98 drivers?
-
by the way i 4got to say thanx guyz ;D ;D4 everything i dint actually find a solution..okay wait i did i traced down the guyz who sold me the card and got a replacement...incase of any future problems culd you guyz recommend a site or a software, even if it requires you to go online, where a guy whose looking for drivers can go and get specs for his hardware(the soft shouldn't depend on the drivers already installed)..thanx a lot ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
-
The manufacturers site is always the best place to look first Freezy.
If you cant find anything on their site then the next best place is probably :

is it possible to remove the heat sink on these video card so that you csn check the chip ??? ???
-
guyz we have another problem,a friend has got this video card that doesn't have drivers but i know its from ATI coz at the back of its written powered by ATi.i'll try give you a clear picture of how the card looks like(just in case one of u has ever seen it).
the board is red, it has three ports;the vga port, video out port and this other one i don't know ??? its a white female port it has 24 holes and 4 smaler holes on the side..(hope that helps).then it has a big silver heat sink.
at the back as i said its written powered by ati, then on the left its written ATi Radeon.then the rest is 'rights' stuff.
so anyone out there know what this is????????by the way is it possible to remove the heatsink so as to check the chip beneath it??
-
Try one of these drivers. dont remove the heat sink
http://www.ati.com/support/installation/tvwonder/win2k/mmctvwonderinstallwin2k.html (http://www.ati.com/support/installation/tvwonder/win2k/mmctvwonderinstallwin2k.html)
Brian ;D
-
ok, i'll try those drivers.forgive my ignorance but that tv wonder is it inserted in the agp port coz my friend's is.and is it a video card coz my friend's has the monitor connector.as in db15(i think thats correct "db15")but anyway the vga connector?? ???then the white port is rectangular in shape.
-
Hi FREEZY
It may be worth while popping into the nearest PC shop and see if they can identify the ports for you, some connections are special to different cards and you need to know which is which to get the correct fittings
Brian ;D
-
i sent you an email lobo with a picture..didi you get it??? ???

-
Sorry my friend no email as yet, been having problems with my email client, Sandra send me a copy please
Brian ;D
-
@Freezy
Got a copy of Sandra but i cant recognize what it is, sorry m8
Brian :(

You can remove the heatsink, but it is risky:
1) its stuck with proper thermal glue. This stuff can rip the skin off a rhino if you're not carfeul when pulling.
2) you must use thermal glue to replace the heatsink so the contact is good.
Somone care to add the picture to the thread here?
What I can say is, its a red board, and has a silver heatsink : the board is quite new. Since its powered by ATI, it isn't MADE by ATI, but uses an ATI chip (or Radeon spec). There are a few different radeon drivers available, you'll have to try them all I guess?
The model number on the card says AGP, so its an AGP card, not PCI.
-
Not very clear but heres the first pic K :)
-
Heres the second :doggie:
-
Thanks Sandra! :D
That IS a big heatsink! And has that picture been imaged the wrong way around? The way it is being held shows that the heatsink would be facing towards the CPU?
Anyway, that picture doesn't tell me anything other than its fairly new and up to date.
As I said before, it will be a RADEON driver - which one I can't tell, but there aren't that many radeon drivers.... just download one and try. Repeat as required.
-
is there anyone i can send these pics to who can identify this product like ati or anyone you guyz know of? ???
