i keep getting this annoying grey box poping up eg. Hi i'm Iris , and i'm a student from london , click ok to visit my web page and have a chat , do you have a web cam ?
it is really starting to bug me now , im getting sick of it , is there any way of me being able to stop it , and have any of you had it before ?
-
Sounds like Messenger Spam. Have you got it running? I think you can block all users not on your list in the Options.

The other one to check is the messenger service under XP.

Find, stop and then disable the messenger service

1. Click Start, Control Panel, and open the "Administrative Tools".
2. Within the Administrative Tools window open "Services".
3. Locate "Messenger" and double click the icon to open "Messenger Properties"
4. Within the "Messenger Properties" set the "Startup Type" to disabled and click the "Stop" button.
5. Click the "Apply" button and close out of all windows.
Hope that sorts it for you. :)

Hey don't know if this might help, but usually with pop ups there is a tracking cookie or data miner that comes with viewing a certain web site and you can get rid of those with ad-aware, there is a free version 6.0 that you can download from lavasoft. Hope this can help as well
