Hi Dougs and :welcome:
Go into Device Manager and right click on your graphics card in there.
Select the Uninstall option.
It will say you are about to remove this device are you sure etc, say yes, close down the pc, remove your old card and fit your new one then restart the pc :)
-
isnt device manager on xp? i have me and it doesnt seem to be in add/remove programs???????????? wheres device manager ??? :-[ :-\ Dougs
-
Which OS are you using ?
If its 98 or ME then right click on My Computer and select Properties and I think its in there but its been a while since I have used 98 and ME :(
-
windows M.E
-
i have found device manager is the graphics card in network adapters?
-
No its in Display adaptors.
Open that and it will have the graphics card in the expanded bit.
Right click and select uninstall or remove as I expained earlier :)
-
cnt see anything called graphics card would it be named sumthin else? ???
-
ok i have found the graphics card but there is no uninstall option
-
Yes, sorry it will be the name/model of the card itself.
Did you see Display Adaptors and then click on the small + sign ?
It should have brought another line up below it and slightly off to the right and will have have something realating to the card itself but wont necessarily say Graphics Card :)
-
If you right click it theres a REMOVE option isnt there ???
Not on Display Adaptor itself but on the expanded line below it.

Are the colours ok after its fully running in windows ?
If so dont worry about it, if not check the display settings for true colour 16 or 32 bit and the resolution and possibly the refresh rate in the ADAPTOR part of PROPERTIES then ADVANCED :)

yeh colors work fine thanx
