Title: win.ini file - Windows Me
Post by: moon on January 04, 2003, 18:27
My first post here and I'm looking for a windows expert.
Does anybody know if Windows ME will automatically load the MS True Type Fonts if the fonts section of win.ini is left blank?
I'm curious as a friends computer is loading the wrong fonts and I've tried everything else.
Thanks

Hi Moon, welcome to PC-Pals forum :)

According to this Microsoft Knowledgebase artilce (http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;133281) the font information is stored in the registry under Windows ME, and the Fonts section in win.ini should be blank.

The list of fonts that Windows thinks is available can be viewed by opening the Fonts icon from Control Panel (please come back to me if you don't know how ot get this).
You should be able to delete fonts which aren't required from this window.
