Whenever I insert a disk into either of the cd drives, the system crashes....any clues?

hi and :welcome: this happened to my mum when i swapped her cd rw for and 8x cd rom.. what is the speed of your cd rom?

also have you got xp? and do you have it on auto read cd roms? if so turn it off and try opening it via my computer.. hope i helped  ;)

I think we might just need a few more details there, mm1938.  

Which OS are you using?  

Do you get any error messages?  

When you say it crashes, does the whole thing freeze, or shut down, or what happens?  

Has this just started happening, and did you install or uninstall anything just prior to the problems?

Does it happen with all CDs in both drives?
