Ayup all
Does software have to be installed to the partition where the OS resides to work. I have a smallish (10 GB) OS partition and a much larger (110 GB) data partition. I've had this notion that to run programs and get their icons on the desktop they need to be installed with the os. Am i wrong ::)

As far as I know Dave you can install programs anywhere and they will still work ok as the information for where they are will be addwd to the registry.
The problem with installing to a different locarion, than the usual C:/program files, would be that it would be very easy to accidentally delete part or all of the installed files :o
