Title: boot up problem in win 2000

just tried to start my other pc, but on the start up screen it says invalid system disc, replace the disc and press any key ??, never done this before, when i press a key it says boot failure insert boot discette in A: ??
help please

Its got a problem in the boot record of your hard drive, thats where the system files are stored and it cant find them.
Unless somehow you have set the bios to boot from floppy only, but I think you would have known if you had done that of course.
Will it start in Safe Mode ?
Which OS are you using ?

Just a thought, but you haven't left a disc in one of your drives, have you?

i had a floppy in the first time i tried to boot up, then i switched off took out floppy but since then it`s not been right  ???. i can start in safe mode, what should i go into to check the correct settings ?

Sounds like you might have to go into BIOS (hit DEL at the prompt during boot up), and look at Boot Settings / Boot Sequence, or similar, and make sure it's set to boot from the Hard Drive.  I don't know how, but it looks like it's been set to boot from the Floppy Disc 'A:' drive.

started then shut down in safe mode, rebooted and it`s fine,  weired  ???, thanks for your help  ;)
