Title: PC Crash (slowdown) when using P2P (eg kiwi ares)

:-\  this problem sux, the softwares seem to work fine for the first few minutes then crash, seems like something is stopping em from working. Also happens to BT downloads. Can someone help please?

It would help to have a few more details of your machine, i.e. which operating system are you using?  I have had this problem myself, and it turned out to be the firewall I had installed at the time, which didn't like WinMX for some reason.  I think it was Outpost.  I changed my firewall and it was fine after that.

im running on WinXP SP1, P4 2.5ghz  512RAM and 160GB HDD
dont think they are the key tho.
I kinda think it's the firewall too, im using a demo version of Zone Alarm 5. Only gives the basic firewall tho.

I use Kiwi and Shareaza to download stuff. so....what firewall do u think i should have?

Try Sygate (link below).  I use that, and have never had any problems with P2Ps.   :)

I'd kind of assumed he's changed his firewall, Joudi.   :-\
