Post by: FUNKAM on November 15, 2004, 09:02
Help, I was trying to save my email messages and saw they had DBX file extension. It asked me which program to use to open them and I foolishly put notepad. Please can somebody tell me the original file extension, what program they should be associated with!. I just want to save them so they can be imported back. HELP Thanks Best wishes Funkam

If you open up "My computer" and select "folder options" from under the "tools" menu. Then select "file types" from the window that appears - you will be able to delete the association between DBX and notepad. (select "DBX" and then the "delete" button).

Following Simons link should give all the info you need on backing up your email messages using outlook.
