Does anyone remember the old game 'Elite' that was so popular on the BBC B in the 80's?  Is there anything like it available for the PC nowadays?

Yes, I remember Elite.  You can still play if you download it and the BBC emulator from:

damn you clive!!! now i will have no excuse to leave my computer... i will now be playing a combination of stars!, xcom and elite all night now!!
