If you do a System Restore to a time before you installed the software it should eradicate it completely and hopefully allow you to start all over again. :)

Jim, have a look in C:\Program Files, and see if there's a Nokia folder still in there. If so, delete it, and try again. Sometimes Add / Remove doesn't do the best clean up job when getting rid of programs. You could also do a search for any other Nokia folders which may be hidden elsewhere. It definitely sounds like part of the program may have been left behind from the uninstall process, which could be preventing you from re-installing it.
Of course, it may be that the download is corrupted, especially as you said it didn't work right in the first place. :)

To ensure readability, install PC Suite in the same language as your PC's operating system.
Maybe that's not the problem, but an idea, just in case.

Well guys I did as you suggested & removed all trace of Nokia files ,installation went as planned ,but using the program it was only working intermittently so it must be the Data Cable ,I have been at this most if this evening I think I will try &change the cable tomorrow & go from there I keep you informed ....Jim

You can find data cables surprisingly cheap on eBay. I got one for my Nokia 6610i, and had no trouble with it at all. The one I got came with Oxygen Phone Manager II, which I find better than the Nokia software, so you might want to see if you can find that somewhere.
