Hi Basserho,
Do you have a manual for your motherboard? (if not do you know what the motherboard is?)
The reason I ask is that sometimes there is a little 'jumper' on the mobo that controls the functionality of the additional ports.
I would have expected Windows to have detected these extra ports if they were enabled in the hardware.

Are all your USB Ports actually on board your motherboard, Basser, or are they separate, like on a PCI card, or a hub?

Are all 4 in the same place ie on a pci card or on the motherboard? I have the original 2 on my motherboard and another 2 on a pci card as the original ones wouldnt work with my ADSL modem as I have a via chipset and they dont seem to like each other.I had to disable the onboard ones and just use the pci ones in order to get the ADSL modem to work.
Has someone done a similar thing with your PC ???

Another question for you :- sorry
If the USB ports aren't on the mobo, are they actually connected to the mobo. Some cases come with USB ports in them, but you have to get an additional cable to connect it to the mobo, if it has the facility.
If I remember right Basserho, you are using Win98se
Click on START | SETTINGS | CONTROL PANEL | SYSTEM then click on the DEVICE MANAGER TAB and see if they are recognised there ... there may be a yellow exclamation mark, and in the properties, it may tell you that you need the drivers installing .... just more for you to check, sorry :)
