Title: error message from 16 bit windows system

I have installed windowsxp/sp2 and have no problems till now:

I tried to reinstall some of my programs and keep getting the following message :

16 bit WINDOWS SYSTEM

C:/winxp/system32/autoexec.nt.--- this system is not suitable for running MS-DOS
And MICROSOFT  windows applications.
 Choose close to terminate the applaction

how do i fix this?
