Register with Telephone Preference Service via www.tpsonline.org.uk to opt out of mobile marketing messages and sales calls. This will take you off marketing lists that are passed around advertisers.

This is good advice Whiskas :)
I registered with the TPS about six months ago when we were regularly getting disturbed by various cold-callers, usually as were were sitting down to our evening meal >:(
I can't remember the last time I was disturbed by an unwanted sales call.
I have also registered with their Fax Preference Service (for work) and Mail Preference Service (for home) which is available from the same site. It can reduce the unwanted junk faxes and mail received.
They also run an Email Preference Service, but I think it's only aimed at legitimate email marketers. I don't think it'll actually reduce spam :(

yup, TPS has been fantastic. we used to get about 20 cold calls per week. from about 3 weeks after registering with TPS we've only had 3 calls in the last year and all of them got off the line pronto when threatened with action.
;D

I've just registered with them. Thanks Whiskas.

I haven't had any yet, apaer from the people I got the phone from, but I don't want them ... so I'll register.
Thanks Whiskas :good:
